MOOCs and Badges

What is a MOOC?
A MOOC is a Massive Open Online Course. Providers include Coursera, EdX, Canvas Network, and others. For individuals without access to a lot of physical professional development opportunities, and autodidacts interested in continuing to expand their knowledge bases, MOOCs are a valuable opportunity!

What are badges?
Badges are the new kid on the block with MOOCs (and even within classrooms in traditional schools) - they are different ways of showing the achievement of skills in smaller chunks than a final assessment. Each program or organization can establish their own badges and criteria for achieving them.

What badges have I earned?
You can find a list of badges I've earned at Credly, which contains a link to my Mozilla Open Badges page as well. Hopefully once there's an app that will feed into Blogger blogs, I'll be able to display them directly here.
